Because it turns out Obamacare really, really, really screws them over.

Jimmy Hoffa Jr. of the Teamsters, Joseph Hansen of the United Food and Commercial Workers and D. Taylor of UNITE-HERE have sent a panicked letter to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Basically the letter says, “Hey, the health care law was supposed to f*ck over everybody else, but not us! Come on, what gives?”

Here’s the plea:

When you and the President sought our support for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), you pledged that if we liked the health plans we have now, we could keep them. Sadly, that promise is under threat. Right now, unless you and the Obama Administration enact an equitable fix, the ACA will shatter not only our hard-earned health benefits, but destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.

I think they just realized all of Dear Leader’s promises have expired.

And then they figured out how Obamacare really is turning America into a part-time nation.

The law creates an incentive for employers to keep employees’ work hours below 30 hours a week. Numerous employers have begun to cut workers’ hours to avoid this obligation, and many of them are doing so openly. The impact is two-fold: fewer hours means less pay while also losing our current health benefits.

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!

They’re also pissed off because their gold-plated health plans are gonna get taxed. I realize most of these union guys aren’t exactly rocket scientists, but really, everybody else knew that from the get-go.

And here’s the money shot:

We can no longer stand silent in the face of elements of the Affordable Care Act that will destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members.

I think I just blew coffee out of my nose!

And now my unionista friends, the world’s tiniest violin, playing just for you.
